On-Target Seminar
Summary of On-Target Evaluations
Upon
completion of the On-Target seminars held in 2002 and 2003, all
participants were invited to complete a seminar evaluation form.
A total of 15 participants were surveyed in 2002 and 21 in 2003.
Each session was rated on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best.
Feedback for the 2002 seminar indicated that all sessions were above
4.0 with the exception of two highly technical sessions which came
in at 3.0. When asked what topic was the most useful, 12 of the
participants described the Geospatial Tool-Kit exercises (a combination
of an intutitive GPS receiver and very simple GIS software on a
PDA). Of the conference attendees who filled out the evaluations,
14 thought the conference was excellent, 2 good, and 1 fair. The
evaluation for 2003 was even more encouraging with 19 of the 21
sessions receiving 4.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale. The most popular
sessions both years were the basic lessons of GPS, HGIS in the Field,
and Using a Pocket PC (the “Geospatial Tool-Kit). Thirteen
people filled out the evaluation form. Twelve thought the conference
excellent and the right duration. One especially pleased attendee
wrote the following:
“Wow! This was the most comprehensive, informative, well-organized, thought-provoking conference I have attended in 18 years with Extension. You all did an excellent job. Thank you for this. You just influenced my Extension career big time. Thank you"
