LandView 6

Landview contains both database management software and mapping software used in the CAMEO system to create a simple computer mapping system involving two programs - MARPLOT® and LandView. The MARPLOT mapping program allows users to map Census 2000 legal and statistical areas, EPA Envirofact sites, and USGS Geographic Names Information (GNIS) features. The LandView database system allows users to retrieve Census 2000 demographic and housing data, EPA Envirofacts data and USGS GNIS information. The GNIS contains over 1.2 million records which show the official federally recognized geographic names for all known places, features, and areas in the United States that are identified by a proper name.

GIS users can download Census 2000 TIGER/Line Data in shapefile format for an area of interest. Users can choose multiple data layers for a single county or a single data layer for multiple counties and analyze them using GIS software such as ArcGIS and ArcExplorer-Java Edition.
RUPRI: Community Information Resources Center (CIRC)
The purpose of the RUPRI (Rural Policy Research Institute) Community Informatics Resource Center is to make policy-relevant information and decision support resources available to community-based decision makers throughout rural America. Specifically, CIRC addresses the spatial and temporal dimensions of issues impacting rural America by incorporating Internet-based geographic information systems, remote sensing technologies, and other data visualization and analytic tools.
